[Case Study] GNSS RTK Observation, Iwate University Faculty of Agriculture, Symbiotic Environment Course
We will introduce a case that demonstrates the effective observation work achieved through the synergy of mobility and high speed, resulting in good responsiveness.
We would like to introduce a case study of GNSS receiver G3100 RTK observations from the Coexistence Environment Course of the Faculty of Agriculture at Iwate University. (The current model is the GX2 series.) During the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, tsunamis surged in from both the Hirota Bay side and the Pacific Ocean side. Due to ground subsidence, seawater that flooded the reclaimed land could not be drained, and the Hirota Town area became an isolated island for several days. Investigating the subsidence situation became urgent for the restoration of agricultural land and reclaimed land. As a result, the efficiency of the investigation has been improved through RTK positioning using GNSS surveying equipment, with the PENTAX G3100, compatible with GLONASS and GPS, actively utilized on-site for RTK positioning. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenges - Aerial photography from above cannot accurately assess the amount of subsidence. - There are still many areas with a large amount of debris remaining, and the wide range of the survey area means that efficiency does not improve with leveling and total station surveys. ■Results - The compact and lightweight design, along with being cable-free, allows for excellent mobility and quick successive RTK positioning in a short time. - Data transmission from the reference station to the mobile station can be done stress-free with a high-speed wireless modem, allowing for focused observation work. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
