Monitoring of fermentation/cultivation processes using FT-NIR (near-infrared) spectroscopy is possible.
In the pharmaceutical industry, continuous control of fermentation processes has become a crucial element of the manufacturing process due to strict regulatory requirements. Bruker has been working for many years on the measurement of challenging fermentation processes. With the transmission-reflection probe developed by Bruker, it is possible to measure slurries and emulsions, enabling the monitoring of fermentation/culture processes using FT-NIR (near-infrared) spectroscopy. We can provide various flanges specified by our customers through welding. High-temperature types are also available.

basic information
The transparent reflection probe developed by Burker Co. enables the measurement of slurries and emulsions, allowing for the monitoring of fermentation/cultivation processes. FT-NIR (near-infrared) spectroscopy allows for non-destructive and non-invasive measurements without pretreatment, enabling rapid and easy simultaneous multi-parameter analysis. Additionally, by installing probes or flow cells in lines or tanks and using fiber optic cables to obtain reflected and transmitted light, remote real-time measurements are possible. Currently, many companies are using this technology not only to improve quality but also to enhance production efficiency. By managing the manufacturing process, it is possible to optimize the use of raw materials and reduce the production of off-spec products, thereby reducing reprocessing and disposal costs.
