The 4992A has two RF sources, one operating from 2MHz to 1GHz / 2.7GHz and the other from 2MHz to 400MHz, each controlling output power in single output and combined output modes. When dual source testing is required, it can significantly reduce the complexity and cost of testing. On the other hand, the test setup is straightforward.
