The safety of ozone gas that you will understand once you know.
What is ozone? Ozone (O₃) is a gas that exists in low concentrations (0.025 ppm) in the atmosphere due to sunlight. It refers to a state where three oxygen atoms (O) are bonded together. In nature, ozone concentrations are higher in areas surrounding the great outdoors, such as "coastlines," "mountains," "forests," "grasslands," and "waterfalls." Concentrations of 0.03 to 0.06 ppm are observed at sunny coastlines, while concentrations of 0.05 to 0.1 ppm are found in forests. There is an ozone layer in the stratosphere at an altitude of 10 to 50 km on Earth, containing 2 to 8 ppm of ozone, which absorbs a significant amount of harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun and protects the terrestrial ecosystem through the self-purifying action of the atmosphere. Ozone has a strong oxidizing ability, second only to fluorine, and is effective in deodorization and sterilization. It also has about seven times the sterilizing, deodorizing, and air-cleaning power of chlorine. Being a gas, it can reach every corner of a room and effectively suppress viruses.

basic information
Safety of Ozone Ozone has been utilized in various fields for over 100 years worldwide and over 30 years in Japan. However, during this time, no accidents involving human life have been reported. It is an extremely manageable gas in terms of safety. There are three main reasons for this. 1. Ozone reverts to oxygen Ozone is an unstable gas that quickly seeks to revert to oxygen, making it impossible to create a dangerously high concentration environment without precise design and planning. 2. No residual toxicity Over time, it gradually transforms back into oxygen. After this process, there are no remaining substances or gases, allowing for safe sterilization, deodorization, and air purification. Additionally, ozone has a distinct smell even at concentrations below safety standards, enabling one to sense its presence, which provides reassurance compared to odorless substances. 3. No need for neutralization The harmful and harmless thresholds of ozone have been clearly verified globally, and permissible concentrations have been established domestically. *The Japan Society for Occupational Health has set a permissible concentration of 0.1 ppm or less as the labor environment standard (for an 8-hour stay).
