One of our favorite (and most desirable) pieces of advice for our customers is that balanced touring reduces working time and costs, and also extends tool life. The owner of Custom Precision, based in Schaumburg, Illinois, explains why they introduced a balancing device in their factory. The machining center was operating at a speed of 12,000 RPM and a feed rate of 5,700 mm/min. After 5 to 6 hours of operation, the operator noticed a change in the high-pitched metallic sound that occurs during cutting.
