Our company, which develops image processing systems utilizing AI, has participated in the "Smart Ferry Development Project," part of the unmanned vessel project "MEGURI2040" promoted by the Nippon Foundation. In the demonstration experiment for the unmanned operation of large car ferries, we were responsible for developing a cargo image analysis system using AI technology capable of detecting other vessels at night with infrared cameras. By combining object detection from infrared camera footage with hull posture detection using high-precision GPS and accelerometers, we performed positioning of detected objects (distance, speed, and heading).
