The world's first industrial large-scale 3D printer that strengthens the flame-retardant super engineering plastic "Ultem" with carbon fiber.
Ultem (TM) 9085, certified in the aerospace industry, is a flame-retardant, high-heat super engineering plastic. The Markforged FX20(TM) supports this as a standard and can further reinforce it with continuous carbon fiber internally. By combining the advanced properties of "lightweight + strength + flame retardancy," it becomes possible to replace metal components. Moreover, it is strong in freeform shapes and can almost fully automatically create parts from 3D drawings. It can also produce large-scale prints of 500mm on each side in one go. It is applicable to a wide range of industrial uses, from functional prototypes in mobility to final parts, robot end effectors, jigs, and tools. Continuous fibers include carbon fiber, fiberglass, and Kevlar (aramid fibers), which can be used according to the application.
