Here is an introduction to the "Low Pressure Casting Division." The mold is inverted and placed over a sealed molten metal (molten metal holding furnace), and the upper surface of the molten metal is pressurized with compressed air. The molten metal rises through the sprue, replacing the air in the cavity, and while solidifying directionally from the part farthest from the sprue until the sprue section solidifies, it applies the effect of pressurized metal, producing sound castings.
