1. What is the lifespan of a fan motor? Generally, the lifespan of a fan is referred to as "expected lifespan," which is represented by the "calculated value of bearing lifespan." This is mainly because the lifespan due to the lubrication (bearing grease) in the bearing section usually comes before the mechanical lifespan. Long-life type fans incorporate various innovations to extend this lifespan. Abnormalities in fan motors include reduced rotation, complete stop, increased current, and abnormal noise, among others. Various functions are built into fan motors to prevent or monitor these abnormalities. 2. What is a Brushless DC (BLDC) motor? Conventional motors cannot directly convert input to output. In this regard, compared to regular motors, BLDC motors have lower losses, allowing for high output and stability while being compact. They also have advantages over brushed motors: - Less mechanical lifespan - No electrical noise generated from commutators, etc. - No noise from brush friction Due to their structure, they detect the rotor position (and perform appropriate energization) to rotate the motor, enabling control of rotation speed, direction, and position without the need for special sensors.
