We would like to introduce a case study on the design and manufacturing of the "Labeling Device" developed by Achi Seiki Co., Ltd. This product is a sub-assembly used in the labeling line for bottles and jars. We manufacture and assemble multiple units used for movements in the front-back, left-right, and up-down directions. Initially, we were creating it by adding processing to the supplied aluminum castings, but we found that it was not sufficiently fulfilling the necessary functions for the mechanism. After providing technical proposals, we conducted a prototype using "machined aluminum" and received customer approval for design changes. By switching to machined aluminum, stable processing became possible.
