Laser cladding welding
■Background of Research and Development Based on the results of the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) project, Shimadzu Corporation commercialized a high-brightness blue semiconductor laser oscillator with an output of 100W in January 2018. Additionally, Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. is independently developing a multi-line near-infrared semiconductor laser with an output of 200W across 6 lines, totaling 1400W. This development incorporates a high-output multi-beam (multi-color) processing head based on the results of the Cabinet Office's SIP project (Innovative Design and Manufacturing Technology). The processing head is mounted on a 6-axis articulated robot, and it is expected to be applicable for forming high-quality coatings on industrial parts ranging from small to large sizes.
