Antibacterial test (JIS Z 2801)
"JIS Z 2801:2012 Antimicrobial Products - Test Methods for Antimicrobial Activity" is a testing method commonly used for flat test specimens. It compares the degree of bacterial growth between antimicrobial-treated specimens and untreated specimens. ISO 22196 is a similar testing method.

basic information
- Necessary information for conducting the test To provide a smooth estimate, it would be helpful to receive the following information: - Number of types of specimens - Whether there are any specimens prepared that correspond to unprocessed test pieces - Required deliverables* (if there are any besides the Japanese report) - Test microorganism species (if you wish to conduct tests with species different from the specified ones) - Method of preparing test pieces (if you wish to use test pieces treated with liquids or wet wipes for testing) *Unless there are specific requests, the report will only be in Japanese (including test methods and test results (results of determining test establishment conditions, number of viable bacteria after culture, antimicrobial activity values), without images).

Applications/Examples of results
**Test Method** Drop inoculate the test specimen (antibacterial processed test piece and unprocessed test piece) with the test bacterial solution (prepared using 1/500 nutrient medium) and cover it with polyethylene film. Incubate at 35°C and relative humidity of over 90% for 24 hours. The unprocessed test piece will be washed out immediately after inoculation and 24 hours after incubation, while the antibacterial processed test piece will be washed out 24 hours after incubation. Measure the viable bacterial count in the washout solution to calculate the viable bacterial count of the specimen. * Tests will be conducted on three test pieces per specimen. * Sterilization of test pieces before testing is not performed unless instructed otherwise. Please let us know if you would like this. * The unprocessed test piece refers to "a material similar to that of the antibacterial processed test piece, but without antibacterial processing." * It is also possible to use test pieces that have undergone some treatment with liquids or wet wipes as antibacterial processed test pieces for testing. We can prepare synthetic resin (polypropylene) test pieces, glass test pieces, and stainless steel test pieces.
