◆Background of Introduction This product was developed during a time when zoom lenses were not yet common in mobile phones. Mobile phones had limited space, and there was a strong demand for thinness. On the other hand, there was a strong desire for camera functionality, and the zoom feature was a significant selling point. To achieve zooming with the lens, it was necessary to change the focal lengths of at least two groups of three lenses, which required a compact and thin zoom lens mechanism. ◆Solution By using a cylindrical cam gear to move the lenses, we can change the focal lengths of the three lenses at any desired timing. This allowed us to keep the thickness to the three lenses plus a little extra. Additionally, one motor can drive two groups of lenses, resulting in fewer parts and less space required. ◆Effect We achieved a zoom lens module that meets the target size. ◆Services Provided by Our Company Idea development, 3D modeling (Solidworks), mechanism design, cylindrical cam design, gear design, prototype (resin).
