I will explain plating in an easy-to-understand way, as it can be difficult for unfamiliar people to visualize.
To put it simply, plating is a technology that involves applying a new metallic coating to the surface of a material, and it is widely used in our everyday lives. For example, tin plating is applied to tin plates for corrosion resistance, and zinc plating is applied to corrugated sheets. Gold plating is used for decorative purposes on trophies and medals, while copper and gold plating are applied to semiconductor components to provide conductivity. As such, there are various types of plating, each with different purposes and characteristics.

basic information
Among the various types of plating, the plating we handle is called hard chrome plating. Chrome plating can be broadly divided into industrial chrome plating and decorative chrome plating; for more details, please refer to the page titled "What is the difference between decorative chrome plating and industrial chrome plating?" The characteristics of chrome plating include high hardness, resistance to scratches, and excellent wear resistance. When expressed as a numerical value, its hardness ranges from approximately HV800 to 950 (compared to HV120 to 140 for general steel materials like SS). In addition to this hardness, its low coefficient of friction contributes to its excellent wear resistance. Next, its good workability can be highlighted. Since grinding is possible, it can remove old plating or perform machining at the micrometer level. By polishing, the surface can be made shiny like a mirror, and by sandblasting before and after plating, a matte surface can also be created. Additionally, by coming into contact with oxygen, it forms a passive film on the surface, which enhances its corrosion resistance. Thus, while chrome plating is an excellent surface treatment, our company also offers chrome plating with release properties, such as "Tef-Lock."

Applications/Examples of results
Our company specializes in industrial chrome plating among various types of plating. The products we handle range widely, primarily focusing on precision rolls, as well as molds and various machine parts. In particular, regarding rolls, we have a subsidiary that operates a roll processing factory, allowing us to achieve integrated production in-house from design, material selection, cutting, and canning to various machining processes, surface treatment, and final surface finishing. We can accommodate all types of rolls, including jacket rolls, knife rolls, coater rolls, calendar rolls, and elastic rolls. Additionally, in terms of surface treatment, we offer not only standard hard chrome plating but also our original surface treatment technologies such as "Tef-Lock" and "Cloamore," enabling us to meet a wide range of needs.
