White foreign substances occasionally seen on the floors of newly built houses! Introducing a qualitative assessment case that suggests they may originate from human skin.
Regarding the white foreign substances occasionally observed on the floors of newly constructed houses, a qualitative assessment was conducted to determine whether they originated from building materials. Preliminary analysis of the white foreign substances using SEM-EDX revealed that carbon was the main component, which allowed for qualitative evaluation using a Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer capable of assessing functional groups of organic compounds. It was indicated that the white foreign substances are not derived from building materials but may originate from human skin. 【Analysis Equipment】 ■ Thermo Fisher SCIENTIFIC Nicolet iS5 【Measurement Method】 ■ ATR Method *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
