PCB contamination detected in transformer and capacitor insulating oil! Analyzing the presence of PCB contamination in containers, iron cores, insulating paper, etc.
If the presence of PCBs is confirmed in the insulating oil of transformers and capacitors, all items contaminated with that oil will be treated as PCB waste. Examples: containers, iron cores, coils, metal scraps, insulating paper, holding rods (paper scraps, wood chips), etc. Waste that may be contaminated with PCBs must be inspected to determine whether it falls under "high concentration PCB waste," "low concentration PCB waste," or "non-PCB contaminated waste." The Tatsuta Environmental Analysis Center conducts PCB analysis for such specially managed industrial waste. The necessary measurement methods and judgment criteria will vary depending on the extent of PCB contamination. If contamination is confirmed, we can provide suggestions based on the situation, so please feel free to contact us. *According to the PCB Special Measures Law, the deadline for the disposal of low concentration PCB waste is March 31, 2027.
