As many automotive parts are now electronically controlled, the automotive industry has begun to emphasize the implementation of EMC tests that simulate actual usage environments from the perspective of quality assurance. The UN ECE Regulation has introduced the RVC method, which is closer to real-world conditions compared to the traditional ALSE method (Antenna Coupling Method). To quickly respond to changes in standards, UL Solutions is expanding its Automotive Technology Center and introducing a Reverberation Chamber (RVC). A Reverberation Chamber (RVC) is a shielded room that contains a metal stirrer (mixer). It is primarily composed of equipment that allows for changes in resonant frequencies due to the rotation of the shielded cavity and the electromagnetic wave stirrer. By rotating the electromagnetic wave stirrer in steps, various resonant modes can occur at certain frequencies, enabling the generation of a statistically uniform field within the chamber.
