This is a method of fastening by driving a so-called iron nail-like object into the base material using a dedicated tool. It can be used with high-strength materials such as high-tensile steel as well as aluminum. It can be incorporated into fully automated automotive manufacturing lines. It is particularly suitable for fastening profile structures that can only be accessed from one side. It can be used with materials of up to 1000 MPa and can join total plate thicknesses of approximately 3 mm to 6 mm.
