Demand literally means "need" or "request," but recently, in the context of energy-saving measures, demand refers to the maximum power usage of consumers who use electricity. Furthermore, when we generally talk about demand values, we refer to the "instantaneous value of power usage: kW," but the demand value used in transactions with power companies refers to the "average power usage over a 30-minute period (demand time limit): kW (average capacity of operational load)." The time intervals of 30 minutes are called demand time limits (1 demand time limit = 30 minutes), and the demand value displayed on the power company's transaction meter is twice the value of the power usage over those 30 minutes.
