The environmental sensor board "RIOT-002 Series" is a board that can send information from temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, illuminance, and 3-axis acceleration sensors to tablets and other devices using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). It is equipped with our energy harvesting and ultra-low power consumption power ICs and a Real Time Clock, enabling self-power generation and extended battery life required for IoT edge devices. This evaluation and development board contributes to simplifying customer IoT edge device development and shortening project timelines, and it can be applied to environmental data logging, electronic shelf labels, and more.

1. Charging a secondary battery from a solar cell Using the R1801 step-down DC/DC converter for energy harvesting, power is extracted from a solar cell (not included) to charge a secondary battery. With the maximum power point control function, it is possible to set the voltage to maximize the power generation of the solar cell, allowing for configuration tailored to the solar cell you are using. 2. High efficiency operation Using the ultra-low power consumption boost/buck DC/DC converter RP605 with battery monitoring function and the ultra-low power consumption LDO RP118, both standby and active operations can be performed with high efficiency to operate the MCU, BLE, and sensors, achieving an average operating current of 22uA (when BLE is transmitted at 5-second intervals). 3. Dedicated app The "RIOT-002 Series" comes with a dedicated Android application. The dedicated app allows for monitoring various environmental data, as well as setting operation time and the transmission cycle of environmental data through the application.
