We conducted a demonstration of the collaboration between AGV and Wi-Fi! We have compiled a report on Allied Telesis's exhibition information at the 5th Nagoya Smart Factory EXPO!
I am O, the event coordinator for manufacturing PR! I have compiled information about our exhibition at the Smart Factory EXPO into this report. There is also exclusive information available only to Ipros members, so please be sure to read to the end! <<Contents Introduced This Time>> 【Optimal Wireless LAN for Factory Equipment】 - Wireless LAN ideal for mobile devices within the factory ★AGV Exhibition Collaboration: Mujin Co., Ltd. - Solutions for common wireless LAN issues - Security measures for a reliable wireless LAN 【Operational Management of Industrial Networks/Connected Devices】 - Simplifying the management of complex networks - Centralized management of complicated networks 【Key Points of Networks Supporting the Supply Chain】 - Achieving a network that connects, visualizes, and protects without stopping 24/7 【Cyber Attack Countermeasures to Keep Factory Operations Running】 - Security measures prepared for emergencies from risk assessments - Visualizing hacking points in factory facilities Among the exhibitions we have participated in, we received particularly many inquiries regarding Wi-Fi (wireless LAN) and cybersecurity! I strongly felt over these three days that the sensitivity of everyone in the manufacturing industry towards smart factories is increasing.

basic information
At the 5th [Nagoya] Smart Factory EXPO, Allied Telesis introduced measures aimed at supporting the digital transformation (DX) of the manufacturing industry under the theme "Supporting Digital Transformation in Manufacturing with Comfortable and Safe Networks." This included networking various devices within factories and strengthening networks connecting factories, overseas locations, and headquarters. A demonstration was conducted envisioning the use of wireless LAN within factories, showcasing mobile devices such as AGVs (exhibition collaboration: Mujin Co., Ltd.) linked with proprietary Wi-Fi technology (AWC-CB). The demonstration also included a management tool (Vista Manager series) that visualizes network and device connection statuses and location information. Additionally, methods for countering the recent surge in cyberattacks were introduced. These included a vulnerability assessment service to identify security risks in advance, an automatic detection and control service for infected devices, and a security disaster training tool aimed at employee training. Furthermore, a range of industrial products capable of withstanding the harsh environments of factories was also thoroughly presented.

★ Points on IT Infrastructure in Manufacturing Industry by Person in Charge O The manufacturing industry has characteristics such as having many remote locations compared to companies that only own general office buildings, large site areas at each location, harsh environments within facilities, and a high number of operational mobile devices. Additionally, accidents that lead to line stoppages while progressing with production plans directly impact delivery times and, consequently, the management situation. For example, when there are multiple remote locations with large site areas, maintaining the IT infrastructure can become very complicated. As the use of IoT devices increases, there will also be a need for Wi-Fi infrastructure that can support those connections. When advancing towards smart factories and digital transformation (DX), it is crucial to first establish a solid IT infrastructure. But is that enough? The answer is NO. The key to promoting smart factories and DX is data. What if data is stolen in a cyberattack? What if it gets encrypted? What if the line stops? It is advisable to consider cybersecurity measures before such situations arise. Allied Telesis understands the unique characteristics of the manufacturing industry and is here to help you achieve optimal IT infrastructure. Please feel free to contact us!
