Engineering services for collision and impact analysis of protective barriers / Contracted analysis
Would you like to outsource the analysis work to reduce the number of experiments for the protective fence, lower experimental costs, and shorten development lead time?
At Japan ESI, we conduct contracted analyses such as strength analysis and impact analysis using the structural analysis integrated solution, Virtual Performance Solution. Here, we will introduce our engineering services related to supports, vehicle stops, guard pipes, wall parapets, bridges, protective fences, guardrails, and wire ropes. By providing us with the 3D CAD model of the product you wish to evaluate through analysis, along with material property data and analysis conditions, it is possible to predict what you would like to evaluate through experiments. ■ Items to be prepared - Product 3D CAD - Material property values and constraint conditions of components - Load conditions and impact conditions ■ Items available from ESI - Passenger car model - Large vehicle model ■ Model creation considerations - We will create an analysis model based on your specified conditions. ■ Reporting of results - Impact force, load, deformation amount - Collision acceleration - Detachment position - Detachment angle - Detachment speed - Overcoming confirmation - Maximum intrusion amount

basic information
At Japan ESI Corporation, we utilize our VPS (PAM-CRASH) for various contracted analyses, including impact analysis of structures and collision analysis of vehicles. Recently, we have also conducted numerous analyses related to rockfall protection fences and sediment protection fences. We offer services for strength analysis and static load analysis of supports, vehicle stops, guard pipes, wall railings, and bridges, as well as collision and impact analysis involving passenger cars or large vehicles against protective fences, guardrails, and wire ropes. Recently, it has become increasingly difficult to prepare vehicle models for experiments, and the costs of experiments are high, making it challenging to conduct multiple tests. On the other hand, through analysis, we can estimate physical quantities equivalent to vehicle collision experiments (such as collision acceleration, departure position, departure angle, departure speed, overrun, maximum intrusion, deformation, impact force, load, and stress) by using the customer's product data (3D CAD data and material properties) along with vehicle models provided by our company. We would be grateful if you could contact us for a consultation or meeting.

ESI Group is a leading company in "virtual prototyping," providing innovative solutions and services focused on "materials physics." We have developed unique solutions that enable the replacement of physical prototypes and experiments with virtual design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and evaluation. Leveraging today's cutting-edge technology, ESI's virtual prototyping addresses performance evaluation throughout the product lifecycle, from the start of use to the end of life, proposing a broader concept: Product Performance Lifecycle (TM). This is achieved by creating a Hybrid Twin (TM) that utilizes simulation, physics, and data analysis, allowing for smarter product development, maintaining a connection with the actual product, and enabling performance predictions and maintenance timing throughout the product's usage period.
