However, on the other hand, the offshore companies related to our customers do not have high software quality. While they manage to keep manufacturing costs down, the need for a significant number of Japanese engineers to improve quality results in higher overall costs. In response to the request for cost reduction and to minimize the customer's personnel involvement, our company implemented a hybrid offshore approach by establishing development teams at both onsite and offshore locations. For processes that the customer wants to control, such as requirements definition and basic design, the onsite team took the lead, successfully minimizing the customer's resource involvement while conducting detailed design, manufacturing, and evaluation processes offshore to keep costs down.
