A case study on the comparison of dispersion in a concentrated state obtained from relaxation time and particle size using laser diffraction method.
We would like to introduce a measurement case using graphite by Majerika Japan Co., Ltd. An experiment was conducted to compare the dispersion degree in a concentrated state with the particle size distribution measured after dilution. Under the current conditions, it was suggested that the ball mill disperses to primary particles at high concentrations. Additionally, the relaxation time was obtained as a two-component system for all dispersions, and the dispersion degree calculated from the relaxation time was good at 20 wt%. 【Case Overview】 ■ Experiment - Graphite was dispersed in distilled water with a dispersant added. - Dispersed for 15 minutes using a planetary ball mill PL-7 (manufactured by Fritsch, Germany). - Relaxation time T2 was measured using the CPMG method. ■ Results - It was suggested that the ball mill disperses to primary particles at high concentrations. - The relaxation time was obtained as a two-component system for all dispersions. - The dispersion degree calculated from the relaxation time was good at 20 wt%. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
