The built-in inductor eliminates the need for complex wiring, allowing for a simple and compact circuit board design that can be placed easily.
The "RM516/RM517 series" is a module that incorporates a step-down DC/DC converter IC with a maximum output current of 100mA/300mA and an inductor. It adopts a compact and thin QFN2430-8 package measuring 2.4 x 3.0 x 0.8 (mm). Since only two external capacitors are required, there is no need for complex wiring, allowing for easy and compact circuit board design. The output voltage can be set from 0.3 V to 1.2 V (in 0.1 V increments), with an input voltage range of 1.8 V to 5.5 V, and a typical quiescent current of 0.3 µA. This product realizes low power consumption in line with the increasingly advancing trend toward lower voltages, contributing to the construction of customers' IoT devices and extending battery life. The output current is 100 mA for the RM516 series and 300 mA for the RM517 series.

basic information
Modularization of DC/DC converter ICs and inductors The "RM516/RM517 series" achieves a slim profile with a package height of 0.8 mm by placing thin inductors horizontally, making it suitable for board mounting with height restrictions. Additionally, since the inductor is built-in, the design of the circuit board becomes easier by simply placing the input and output capacitors near the chip, which helps reduce the hassle of inductor selection and concerns about end-of-life (EOL), contributing to solving customer issues. Realization of ultra-low power consumption through VFM control The "RM516/RM517 series" reduces inactive power during standby through VFM control, thereby lowering total power consumption and contributing to longer battery life and smaller battery sizes.
