"Screen printing" refers to a printing method that uses a screen plate. The screen plate is made by weaving fibers such as stainless steel or polyester in a lattice pattern. It is classified as "stencil printing," where a paste (functional material) is passed through the mesh of the screen plate and transferred onto the workpiece (target object). Parts that should not be transferred are coated with emulsion (a film on the mesh), allowing for the creation of free printing patterns. (In the screen plate manufacturing process, emulsion is applied over the entire surface, and then a desired pattern is cut out using photosensitive emulsion through exposure and development.)
