A case that combines a coating for heat dissipation and a highly insulating coating!
We would like to introduce a case study of problem-solving using Japan MT's "Dry Lubrication Coating Dry Surface." This involved the application of an insulating film on an aluminum cover for automotive motors, requiring an insulating coating with high thermal conductivity (heat absorption). Initially, we planned to use alumina thermal spraying, but it was very costly, and we needed to secure a film thickness of over 100μm, which posed precision issues. Therefore, we applied the insulating coating DC2830 to ensure insulation at around 20μm. Additionally, we applied the 8441MT coating on top, which also improved thermal issues. The processing temperature was below 200°C, with no impact on the aluminum. [Key Points of Problem Solving] ■ Insulation and thermal conductivity generally have opposing properties. ■ In this case, we attempted to meet both performance requirements by combining a coating that dissipates heat with a highly insulating coating. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
