Some proteins are excited by light from a light source and absorb light! Here is an example of measurements using a spectroradiometer.
This time, we will measure drinking yogurt products. The components of yogurt vary by manufacturer and product, so it is not guaranteed that the same results will be obtained for all types of yogurt. When blue light (peak wavelength 449nm) is applied to this drinking yogurt, the wavelength spectrum of the fluorescent response can be observed in the early part of the 500-600nm range on the right side of the transmitted light spectrum (400-500nm). There are many types of proteins, each reacting to different wavelengths. Generally, a wavelength light source of 280nm is used for testing protein content, but there are substances that can be detected at other wavelengths as well. [Overview] ■ Light source: White LED (Crius) ■ Sample: Drinking yogurt ■ 1cm square plastic cuvette, using Neo dedicated cuvette holder ■ Smoothing off *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
