Reduction in welding and wear at the tip! A case where production is possible up to 12,000 shots.
We would like to introduce a case where "Kanack OX treatment" was applied to a pin. Due to the pin's withdrawal angle of 0.05 degrees, galling occurred at the aluminum weld area 150mm from the pin tip, resulting in a low lifespan. Therefore, we decided to test Kanack OX treatment, conventional nitriding, CVD (three-layer), and PVD (CrN) surface treatments. As a result, production became possible up to 12,000 shots, and the welding and galling at the tip were reduced, leading to improved productivity. 【Case Summary】 ■ Conventional Issues - Aluminum welding - Occurrence of galling ■ Treatment Effects (due to improved surface hardness) - Suppression of welding - Suppression of galling *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Kanak processing is a gas nitriding treatment using a unique method. The material is held in a heating atmosphere of around 500°C for several hours, allowing nitrogen to diffuse from the surface of the steel and react with metal elements to form a hardened layer. Unlike conventional nitriding treatments, there are very few brittle iron nitride compounds near the surface, and the high compressive residual stress along with a smooth hardness distribution are characteristics of Kanak processing.
