Improved surface hardness makes polishing easier! Here is an example where the lifespan of the mold has doubled.
In the resin injection molding factory, this is a counterpart material with 40% glass added. I had wanted to apply surface treatment for some time, but the dimensional tolerance was strict at 5µm, making it impossible to perform surface treatment. This time, we implemented the New Kanack treatment, which has minimal dimensional change. The mold life has doubled, and we were able to reduce the polishing process time. 【Conventional Issues】 ■ Dimensional changes ■ Wear ■ Time for the polishing process *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Kanak processing is a gas nitriding treatment using a unique method. The material is held in a heating atmosphere of around 500°C for several hours, allowing nitrogen to diffuse from the surface of the steel and react with metal elements to form a hardened layer. Unlike conventional nitriding treatments, there are very few brittle iron nitride compounds near the surface, and the high compressive residual stress along with a smooth hardness distribution are characteristics of Kanak processing.
