In laboratory work, a reduction in corrosion rate has been demonstrated in soft steel coupon tests using Pionera biopolymer. The tests were conducted at ambient temperature and pH 6.8 +/- 0.3, using various formulations of corrosion inhibitors. With the addition of Pionera biopolymer, the corrosion rate significantly decreased from the first day.
