Q: Is it possible to plate stainless steel (SUS)? A: Yes, it is possible. A nickel strike plating (a thin film with high adhesion) can be applied to stainless steel (SUS), allowing for various plating options on top of it. The RoHS Directive refers to the "Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive," which aims to reduce environmental destruction and health hazards caused by hazardous substances by restricting the use of specific harmful substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The RoHS Directive was enacted in 2003 and came into effect in 2006. It underwent significant revisions in 2011, with the current regulations being enforced from 2013. The initial directive is referred to as "RoHS1," while the revised directive is known as "RoHS2."
