The generated acid is used in various catalytic reactions! An explanation of the reaction mechanisms and selection criteria.
A "Photo Acid Generator (PAG)" is a substance that generates acid when exposed to light. Structurally, it can be classified into two groups: ionic photo acid generators of the onium salt type and non-ionic photo acid generators. When light is irradiated on sulfonium salt type photo acid generators, the cationic site absorbs light energy, causing the C-S+ bond to cleave and generating radical species. In the case of imidosulfonate type photo acid generators, the structure on the imido side serves as the light absorption site. 【Characteristics of Ionic Photo Acid Generators】 - The generated acid can be selected from weak to strong acids (the generated acid is determined by the counter anion). - High thermal stability. - Tends to have low solvent solubility. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
