"Can't Ask Now! Basic Knowledge of Electric Lock Control" What are Ventilation Locks?
Basic knowledge, uses, and case studies about ventilation locks are published! *Materials available.
● What is a ventilation lock? It is an electric lock that can be secured while keeping the window open to a width that allows airflow. It can be fixed and locked at a width that prevents people from entering or exiting. This solves problems for those who want ventilation but are concerned about wandering, unauthorized exits, or falls, making it difficult to open windows. As an electric lock system, it can be controlled together with card readers and keypads within the facility. The panic open function built into the electric lock control panel automatically unlocks all doors in case of emergencies (such as fire or earthquake), ensuring safe evacuation routes. ● What is JEI's Care Lock? Originally developed as a product for nursing care facilities, it was created with the theme of "protecting the safety of residents, reducing the burden on caregivers, and creating a comfortable living space" through trial and error. To prevent dangerous wandering due to dementia and unauthorized exits to balconies that pose a risk of falling, the Care Lock limits openings while ensuring ventilation. In emergencies such as earthquakes or fires, it facilitates evacuation guidance by unlocking all doors simultaneously. * We are currently offering materials that provide basic knowledge about ventilation locks, their applications, and case studies! basic information
Electric locks for hinged doors come in a wide variety, but electric locks for sliding doors are limited. Moreover, similar products from competing companies require embedding processing in the window frame above and the sliding door, making installation very labor-intensive, and there is a possibility that the strength of the frame may weaken due to notching. Additionally, these products cannot be installed on existing sliding door frames and cannot be retrofitted. The JEI Care Lock features a system that allows for retrofitting by attaching a frame that serves as a rail with a built-in electric lock to the top of the frame. Since it only requires surface mounting with screws to the frame, installation is also easy. It offers advantages such as energy efficiency and space-saving that are suited to Japan's architectural circumstances, allowing electric locks to be installed in places where they could not be installed before.
