Palladium (Pd), a metal belonging to the platinum group, has a melting point of 1555°C, a density of 12.16 g/cm³, a Vickers hardness of HV 250–300, and is a noble metal with a face-centered cubic structure. It does not discolor in the atmosphere and has excellent chemical resistance. Pure palladium plating maintains the unique noble hue characteristic of the platinum group, does not rust or discolor in the atmosphere, and has high chemical stability, being resistant to acids and alkalis.
