This is an innovative reverse osmosis membrane and spacer (RO membrane module flow channel material) that combines CNTs, which have antifouling properties, and CNFs, which have high permeability, to provide performance tailored to various applications. One type of this module, the "ultra-low pressure high permeability CNF/PA composite reverse osmosis (RO) membrane," has obtained the "ANSI58" certification from NSF (National Sanitation Foundation), a certification standard for water purification membranes in the United States. This is the first certification obtained in Japan, and it is expected to be applied to "purified water" water servers and other products, which are rapidly gaining demand, especially in developing countries.
