Mechanical Engineering of On-site Trained Technicians: Thread Cutting on a Conventional Lathe
I use brazed bits that are ground, not disposable ones!
We would like to introduce the process of cutting external threads on a conventional lathe by a craftsman. We use brazed cutting tools instead of throwaway inserts for this work. If you can perform this task, there is no need to match the sizes of the dies. While it is possible to cut threads on a CNC lathe, the conventional lathe is faster and easier.
