Uses and Types of Diamond Dressers

Introduction to purpose adjustment (Dressing), shape adjustment (Truing), and forming (Forming).

We will provide information on the uses and types of diamond dressers. Dressing involves removing clogged or jammed abrasive particles from grinding wheels, creating new sharp cutting edges, and clearing out chips that have accumulated in the pores of the grinding wheel to create new chip clearance. Shaping is the process of forming the working surface of the grinding wheel concentrically to the axis of the wheel. Forming refers to the process of shaping grinding wheels for precision general-purpose grinding, thread grinding, or gear grinding, among other required shapes.
