The new MECO OFS-2 seal is the most suitable shaft seal newly developed for low-speed mixers and blenders in the food industry, where frequent cleaning is required (for instant noodle flour, spices, seasonings, soup powders, etc.). The OFS-2 seal overturns the conventional wisdom of mechanical seals by completing a groundbreaking technology that allows a soft material FDA-approved food-grade rotor (yellow part in the left photo) to slide on the surface of a SUS316L stator (MECO engraved part in the left photo). Existing shaft seals such as gland packing and lip seals are removed, and the stator is directly bolted to the machine body using the screw holes. The rotor of the rotating seal part, which has a low friction coefficient, rotates in close contact while being fully held by a spring against the precisely wrapped stator surface. An O-ring is fitted inside the rotor, which rotates in sync with the shaft, preventing leaks from the inside.

Remove the existing shaft seals such as the grand packing and lip seals, and use their screw holes to directly bolt the stator to the machine body. The rotor of the rotating seal, which has a low friction coefficient, rotates in close contact while being fully held by a spring against the precisely wrapped stator surface. An O-ring is fitted inside the rotor, which rotates in sync with the shaft, preventing leaks from the inside. It is designed for easy maintenance, allowing the seal section to be easily disassembled, cleaned, and reinstalled using the spring's load. By loosening the spring screws, a clearance is created between the stator and rotor sliding surfaces, allowing for spray cleaning. After drying, retightening the spring screws allows for easy resetting of the seal sliding surface to the stator.
