The 4CH type small-capacity optical terminal device uses optical fiber cables to transmit signals such as voice, control, and monitoring devices over long distances. (Transmission is possible up to a maximum of 100 km.) It multiplexes 3 analog lines, 1 telephone line, and contact input/output signals into digital signals for optical transmission. This device can be installed at a low cost and in a space-saving manner in small-scale power plants with a limited number of lines.
