Speed up breeding! It is possible to create new strains in 1 to 3 years.
We would like to introduce our developed "Neutron Breeding Technology." This is a variety improvement technology that utilizes "mutations" that occur naturally in plants, using quantum rays (neutron rays), which are a type of radiation. Neutron rays have a very high mutation rate of 3 to 26%, ensuring a certain effect based on probability theory. Due to this high mutation rate, the time required to create new strains can be significantly shortened, making neutron ray breeding a promising technology to replace gamma rays and heavy ion beams in the future. Please feel free to consult us when needed. 【Features】 ■ Mutation rate of 3–26% ■ Highly versatile, applicable to most plants, as well as microorganisms and insects ■ Capable of affecting the energy of "targets in cultures" through irradiation ■ Useful traits can be easily obtained in breeding microorganisms, where genetics are mostly unexplored *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Starting as a private company initiated by local volunteers under the proposal of the Ibaraki University Graduate School of Science and Engineering, we aim to develop a new technological domain that is globally competitive through collaboration between radiation-related facilities concentrated in Ibaraki Prefecture and the vibrant agriculture in the region. Our goal is to commercialize the use of neutrons for crop improvement, which, while considered effective among experts, had not been socially implemented, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable society. We have conducted repeated demonstration experiments, enabling the generation of dynamic and large quantities of mutants that were previously unattainable. In 2020, we patented the technology for generating mutagens using neutrons, and we are currently providing solutions not only for crop improvement in agriculture but also as a useful technology for the development of industrial microorganisms, catering to companies and research institutions engaged in biological breeding and variety development.
