"Pickling treatment" is optimal for removing welding burn, improving corrosion resistance, and removing impurities and cleaning.
It is ideal for removing discoloration from welding, stains, and impurities adhered to the surface. It also improves corrosion resistance. The result is characterized by a high-quality finish without any burn marks or stains. 【Purpose of Acid Pickling】 By performing acid pickling, welding discoloration is removed, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the product. Additionally, since welded areas are prone to corrosion, there is an effect of improving corrosion resistance. It is often used as a pre-treatment for polishing, plating, and coating. ◇◇ Please feel free to contact us for more details ◇◇

[Surface Treatment Case] A case where a cost reduction for burn removal was achieved by outsourcing to an acid cleaning contractor. The product in the photo has a production lot of about 40 to 50 pieces per batch, and due to its relatively small and simple structure, the manufacturer was processing it in-house using burn removal agents. The process using burn removal agents involves applying the agent → leaving it for a period (2 to 12 hours) → rinsing → brushing → washing with water → drying, which surprisingly takes a considerable amount of time and effort. As a result, when the cost of burn removal was calculated, it amounted to 460 yen per piece. In contrast, the unit price when outsourcing to our company was less than half of that. Even considering transportation costs and other expenses, this resulted in significant cost savings. Furthermore, the products were uniformly finished beautifully, with no need for rework in surface treatment, eliminating delays in delivery.

[Surface Treatment Example] Treatment Case with a White Finish through Pickling The product in the photo is a stainless steel sheet metal part. It uses a material commonly referred to as 2B, and due to bending and welding, it had some minor scratches and oxidation scale. By applying pickling to such products, the minor scratches become less visible, and the oxidation scale (burn marks) from welding is removed, resulting in a higher-quality finish for the product itself. Additionally, dirt is removed, resulting in a clean pearlescent surface (also referred to as pickled surface).

[Surface Treatment Example] A Case of Removing Welding Scale While Retaining Gloss This is a treatment case that responds to the request, "I want to remove welding scale while retaining as much gloss as possible." Generally, acid pickling of stainless steel products results in a white finish, but there are times when customers request that it not become too white. In such cases, we usually recommend electropolishing; however, if the interior is partitioned into several sections or has a complex shape, electropolishing is not suitable, so we proceed with acid pickling. While it is difficult to perfectly meet this requirement, we can manage to reduce the whitening to some extent, as shown in the photo, while removing the welding scale. Since the treatment conditions vary for each product, please contact us first.

【Surface Treatment Example】Pickling of Titanium Containers Our company performs pickling not only on stainless steel but also on titanium. The photo shows a sample of a titanium container that has undergone pickling. Before treatment, the surface was cloudy due to dirt accumulated during the processing stages, but after pickling, the dirt was removed, resulting in a smoother surface and a slightly whiter finish than before, giving it a clean appearance. As in this treatment example, pickling of titanium is utilized for purposes such as "removing dirt from the titanium surface."
Company information
Our company has been engaged in surface treatment technology for over 60 years, incorporating the philosophies of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 into our processes, from metal houseware products to semiconductor manufacturing equipment components. Through thorough quality control and technological development, we provide surface treatment processing that meets the demands of the times. Our electrolytic composite polishing has received high praise, including a letter of appreciation for contributing to the completion of the high-intensity proton accelerator facility "J-PARC," which was jointly constructed by the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) and the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK). We perform various surface treatments that maximize the qualities of different metal materials, such as electrolytic polishing, electrolytic composite polishing, coloring of stainless steel and titanium, and pickling. In recent years, we have also been involved in surface treatment processing for materials like magnesium, aluminum, and titanium. Leveraging the expertise in surface treatment that we have cultivated in the Niigata Prefecture Tsubame-Sanjo region, which is well-known for metal processing, we are here to assist you in solving your problems.
