Introduction of soil microbial membrane combined treatment purification tanks! A case study from 2024.
We would like to introduce a case where our "Sofeel" system was implemented at the public restroom in Mukojima Sports Park, located in Hofu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The installation system is "Sofeel Circulation," with a processing capacity of 12 people and 2.4m3/day. The installation period is set for 2024. Please feel free to contact us if you have any inquiries. 【Case Overview】 ■ Construction Location: Mukojima, Hofu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture ■ Installation Period: 2024 ■ System: Sofeel Circulation ■ Processing Capacity: 12 people, 2.4m3/day ■ Client: Hofu City Hall, Urban Planning Division *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Mukojima Sports Park is located on Mukojima, an island in Hofu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture (connected by a bridge to the mainland). An off-grid toilet (not connected to commercial power) has been constructed adjacent to the tennis courts. This toilet is primarily used during tennis practice and tournaments, and it serves as a disaster prevention toilet that can be used both regularly and in emergencies (such as power outages during disasters). There is a possibility that the community could become isolated if the "movable bridge," which is the main access road, is damaged during a disaster. Therefore, the construction plan for the toilet required it to function during emergencies as a disaster prevention facility. In the proposal, the use of a closed-loop system was compared and evaluated based on criteria such as "operating on low power consumption with a solar power and storage system," "environmentally friendly closed-loop usage that does not impact the sea," "performance that is not affected by user fluctuations," "low running costs and easy management," and "proven track record in disaster prevention facilities," leading to its adoption. Due to its coastal location, the design took into account measures against salt damage. A sign has been installed to inform citizens about the disaster prevention toilet, and during power outages, excess electricity can be used to charge mobile phones and other devices.

Regarding the off-grid design specifications, we proposed a solar power generation and storage system. Considering that the protective fence of the adjacent tennis court obstructs sunlight, the mounting structure for the solar panels was designed with an extended height to ensure effective power generation even in winter. The battery storage system is designed to operate normally even during prolonged periods of bad weather, anticipating days without sunlight.

The 21st century is referred to as the "Era of the Environment." The mission of environmental creators is significant, and there are great expectations from various sectors. In particular, creating towns that are kind to both people and the planet is considered an urgent issue in modern times. "Designing while protecting the natural environment is the culture and 'heart' of the town. The landscape and space of the completed facilities represent the beautiful 'form' of the town." With this concept, we pursue what truly constitutes a comfortable environment and steadily realize it based on high levels of safety and security! The Sofeel Association, which has members nationwide, possesses the mobility to respond with a complete system to the necessary ideas, materials, and technological capabilities required to create such an ideal environment.
