The situation is complicated by the fact that keys are stored in the file systems of each device without protection. The CodeMeter CmDongle includes a secure storage element that is ideal for key storage. CodeMeter technology is integrated into the OPC UA server and client to access these keys hidden in the CmDongle via OPC UA.
