"Monel," a difficult-to-machine material, supports high-precision processing that meets strict tolerances.
Monel is a nickel-based alloy that contains 29-33% copper. It has excellent resistance to acids and corrosion, and due to these properties, it is used in corrosive and high-temperature environments such as seawater and chemical plants (e.g., seawater desalination evaporators, salt production plant equipment, crude oil distillation towers). Additionally, it has higher strength and superior water resistance compared to stainless copper, which is why it was once used for tableware and cooking utensils. ■ Challenges in Monel Processing - It tends to retain heat and is prone to work hardening, leading to significant tool wear. - It is soft and easily scratched. ■ Technical Points - Scratch-free surface finish. - Strict tolerance compliance (±0.01). - Capable of processing various shapes and sizes, including screws, washers, and flanges.
