We would like to introduce the "Real Gum (Unwashed + Washed)" test conducted by our company. In the unwashed test, a certain amount of the sample is evaporated under specified conditions, controlling the test temperature and air or steam flow rate, and the mass of the resulting residue is measured in mg/100mL. In the washing test, the residue from the unwashed sample is further washed away with heptane, and the mass of the residue obtained after washing is also measured in mg/100mL. A high amount of gum can lead to deposits in the intake system or cause the intake valves to stick.
