■Issue: Contamination and Waste in the Grinding Process In the precision measurement industry, which handles a wide variety of equipment, products such as "calipers" that users handle directly can lead to immediate complaints if scratched, necessitating the utmost care during the manufacturing process. Particularly in the grinding process, there is a high risk of product damage due to the detachment of abrasive particles from self-generating grinding wheels. Traditionally, it has been common to prevent contamination by filtering with a filter, but considering the environment, costs, and the burden of work, this situation cannot be deemed optimal. ■Reason for Selection: Improved Maintainability and Reduced Defective Products The opportunity arose when the company was in the process of introducing a new grinding machine, and the grinding machine manufacturer introduced FILSTAR to us. Although similar products had been tried before, there was a desire to broaden the selection, leading to a trial introduction of FILSTAR.
