Muskejo is the world's first musculoskeletal model capable of biomechanical analysis at the joint tissue level.
Muscle synergy refers to a coordinated structure in which neurons in the spinal cord and brain simultaneously control muscle groups. By investigating muscle synergy, we can understand the neural structures that form joint movements. Based on the musculoskeletal model Muskejo, muscle synergy analysis can serve as an alternative to electromyography (EMG) data analysis, addressing the challenging issue of conducting muscle synergy analysis from EMG that includes deep muscles, which are difficult to measure.

basic information
Muskejo (Musculo-skeletal-joint) enables kinematic and dynamic calculations such as joint angles, joint moments, and muscle forces by combining a motion capture system with force plates. Additionally, it allows for biomechanical analysis at the joint and soft tissue level, including joint accessory movements (such as internal/external rotation, varus/valgus, and translation), joint contact mechanics (contact pressure, contact area, soft tissue stress, etc.), and ligament forces. Conventional musculoskeletal models represent bones as rigid bodies and joints as mechanical axes in a rigid link system, allowing for biomechanical analysis at the body level, but they cannot perform biomechanical analysis at the joint tissue level. Muskejo is the world's first musculoskeletal model (also referred to as a muscle-skeletal-joint model) that can conduct biomechanical analysis at the joint tissue level, taking into account the physiological interactions between muscle activity in the body and the deformation of joint tissues, along with the accompanying joint movements (unique technology: concurrent analysis).
