Electrostatic painting is a method that efficiently adheres paint to the object being painted by using the object as the anode (positive electrode) and the electrostatic painting machine as the cathode (negative electrode), thereby forming an electrostatic field between the two electrodes. It utilizes the charging power of the mist-sprayed paint particles (negative) to attach the paint to the object. The negatively charged paint moves along the electric field lines, allowing it to wrap around not only the front side of the sprayed object but also the sides, inner surfaces, and back, resulting in a uniform coating.
