An LCD video wall is a large visualization surface constructed from multiple LCD displays, also known as "tiles." These individual displays are specially designed for use in these applications and are significantly different from regular television sets. The biggest differences are in bezel width, mounting systems, and reliability. Regular TVs are designed to play for a few hours a day, but these specific panels are expected to handle much more playback. In many cases, they operate 24/7. Additionally, since the environments in which these LCD video walls are deployed can be critical, uptime needs to be as high as possible.
